This mini-conference is being presented in celebration of National Breastfeeding Month and Black Breastfeeding Week. It will include a variety of workshops and discussions on breastfeeding topics such as lactation support in the hospital and home, establishing milk supply and ensuring baby is getting enough, flange fitting for optimal pumping, complex issues that impact breastfeeding, and culturally sensitive support. There will be opportunities for mingling, networking, and a Q&A panel.
This event is $40 for members and $60 for non-members

tamar Oded
Tamar Oded is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She holds a BM in early music performance from Indiana University and a MS in Arts Administration from Drexel University. Following clinical internships with South Jersey Breastfeeding at The Village and Temple University Hospital, Tamar joined the South Jersey Breastfeeding team in 2022.
Tamar is a mother of three who has spent the last 20 years as a nonprofit professional while studying and teaching her passions on the side. She believes strongly in the healing power of plants, food, movement, and the environment, and has studied folk herbalism since 2014 and yoga since 1995. Tamar has also worked as a postpartum doula and childbirth educator, and teaches The Village's Path to Parenthood classes.

marcella derosa
Marcella DeRosa began her journey as a birth doula in 2013 after the births of her first two children. She later became passionate about postpartum doula work helping new parents navigate the challenges of the transition into parenthood.
In 2023 Marcella became an IBCLC and supports clients as a lactation consultant on their breastfeeding journey, while still running a doula practice with a team of doulas who make up Born With Love Doulas by her side!

SARAH GIBSON
Sarah is the Senior Research Associate for the Program for Maternal Health Equity, Change of Heart Program.
Born and raised in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, Sarah proudly graduate from Temple University’s College of Public Health in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health.
Sarah started her career in Maternal Health and Reproductive Justice in 2017 and is currently a Full Spectrum Doula and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Sarah has worked as a community doula and breastfeeding counselor for Maternity Care Coalition and at the Breastfeeding Resource Center at Temple Women's and Families Hospital postpartum unit as an inpatient Lactation Consultant.
Sarah is deeply passionate and committed to advancing maternal health equity and strives to ensure that birthing individuals receive compassionate, informed, and culturally responsive care.

Lauren Zelvis
Lauren Zelvis is an IBCLC and elementary school teacher serving the South Jersey area. She is a mother of three, and has been a “lactivist” since 2017. She does home visits and telehealth through her private practice, Cozy Latch Counseling. To Lauren, supporting breastfeeding starts with supporting women, no matter what their breastfeeding goals are.
